A1 Turkish Kebab & Ice Cream Review

I’ve been wanting to share this review for quite a while already, but due to my busy schedule, I didn’t have the chance. Today, or should I say yesterday, I was deployed at Orchard for work, so I decided to drop by the A1 Turkish Kebab and Ice Cream kiosk to get my dinner.
I’ve been wanting to do a review video for my YouTube and TikTok channels, but never got the chance due to my busy work schedule. Since I was deployed in Orchard, I thought I’d start with my blog first.
So I paid a visit to these guys after work to get some food. I ordered the usual chicken kebab with fries and hummus. Since I’m a regular there, they have already anticipated my order. Talk about great customer service! The only thing is that I don’t know their names, and they don’t know mine either. Lol
Chicken Kebab With Fries

I would always order this each time I visit their kiosk. It consists of a generous serving of stripped cucumbers, tomatoes, and yellow onions topped with the kebab of your choice. And lastly, thick-cut fries. On the side would be their white sauce(maybe some form of salad dressing…simply delish…) and also some chilli sauce. I’m not sure if they do have ketchup, though. All packed together into one container. Call it a kebab salad if you would.
Veggies will be veggies, so I won’t describe much other than that they are fresh. The kebabs, nicely marinated and juicy. Coupled with their white sauce and also chilli sauce, it simply completes the meal.
Pardon the presentation in the image. The guys knew I loved their white sauce, so they added some drizzle over the fries on top of the white sauce on the side. I think they sprinkled some paprika as well.
Hummus With Pita Bread

My other favourite from the A1 Turkish Kebab & Ice Cream kiosk is their hummus. I usually have it with pita bread. I even requested an additional pita bread too, at, of course, an additional charge. But they do have options for fries or cheese fries as well.
Oh yes, did I mention that you can request for the pita bread to be heated as well? They can heat up the pita bread for you using their panini at no extra cost!

The texture of the hummus is smooth and just the right consistency. Creamy and easy on the throat, definitely not drowning in a sea of olive oil. The added sprinkle of what seems to be paprika adds to the flavour of the hummus.
Best consumed with the pita bread, however, it is individual preference. I had my last two pieces of cheddar and herb brioche at home. Tried it with the hummus, the herb in the brioche simply completes this Mediterranean cuisine. Another option is that you can try consuming the hummus with the focaccia.
The herbs in the focaccia will enhance the flavour of the hummus and bring it to another level. Highly recommended!
Pricing
Coming from a consumer point of view. Because the kiosk is located in the heart of the shopping district and rentals can be quite high. The food is reasonably priced. The proportion given by A1 Turkish Kebab & Ice Cream is also generous.
I have not tried the Turkish ice cream, though, just because I wanna avoid their sneaky tricks when getting the ice cream. But if you have someone in mind that you wanna make a fool of and get some entertainment out of it, it is worth the price.
During the whole of my patronising A1 Turkish Kebab & Ice Cream, I have seen families and tourists laughing their guts out watching their loved ones getting tricked by the Turkish ice cream guy. It’s entertaining!
Location
A1 Turkish Kebab & Ice Cream kiosk is conveniently located along the taxi stand at Lucky Plaza. Just after the entrance to Lucky Plaza carpark, which is also near the linked shelter connecting to Tangs Plaza. It is a kiosk-type business which is located outside Lucky Plaza. You can’t miss it!

Do drop by and visit them during the weekends or maybe during lunch or after work hours, and try their kebabs. I’m pretty sure you’ll love the food!
In New York, there’s The Halal Guys. Here in the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore, you have the A1 Turkish Kebab & Ice Cream! Highly recommended! I have also left them a Google Review, so you can check it out!
What To Try
As I have not tried their falafels yet, I highly recommend their wide range of kebabs. Those that I’ve tried and recommended are in the list below.
- Chicken Kebab with Fries *my favourite
- Chicken Kebab Tombik (sort of like a burger but in pita bread)
- Hummus with Pita bread
- Chicken Kebab roll (kinda like shawarma thingy)
Don’t misunderstand, I do love their beef, but I very much prefer their chicken more. Pls do bear in mind that if you were to buy to consume later, do keep it refrigerated. Reheat it again when you are ready to consume. Best to consume immediately after purchase.
Alright so that sums up my review for the A1 Turkish Kebab & Ice Cream kiosk at Lucky Plaza. I’m ending this review with a disclaimer. Please do read the disclaimer to avoid unnecessary assumptions. With that said, I shall see you guys in my next review or blog post!
