My Experience After Being Tested POSITIVE
Each time your employer or the government asks to do the ART test, take it positively. It is for the best of everyone. During a health crisis, everyone plays an important role. One slip means an opportunity for the virus to spread and cause damage. The virus is indiscriminate, so anyone can be a target including myself. Here is my recent experience after being tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
Initial Stages
I went through a few stages before I was tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. At this point, I have already done two doses of the vaccination. There were a couple of on and off fevers yet my ART results are still negative. A day before I fell totally ill, my body totally shut down.
I slept for almost 24hrs before waking up and becoming ill. That night I had a shift going on so I decided to just carry on and maybe fall out if things got worst. True enough, my condition worsened past midnight and I decided to report sick. Before I started the shift, my ART result was negative.
I went to my family GP first thing in the morning. I was diagnosed with the FLU package and was told to do a PCR and ART test at the nearby clinic before going home. So I did since it was mandatory. After the tests, I went back home to recuperate.
Tested POSITIVE
On the same day at about 7 pm, I received a text of my result and it was positive. I took the result with a positive mindset mainly because my wife and I have already completed two doses of the vaccination. I was also lucky that the new protocols have also been released on that day. Read about it here.
I informed my wife as soon as I got the result. I also filled up the form so that those with whom I have close contact will be notified. My wife was then released from her workplace to continue working from home.
Now please take note of this one. My wife did her ART test in the morning and her result was negative. As soon as she returns home and within minutes she did her ART test again, her result turned out positive. It is not contagious, it is HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS! So if you have your loved ones at home, please isolate yourself and limit contact.
If you have no room to isolate yourself, contact the Ministry Of Health and request to be transferred to a recovery facility. You can find the details in the text that they will send to you. Reading up about it here might also help.
Today is my 9th day of recovering at home. My wife is also with me and she has already tested negative two days back. I’m still tested positive at noon. I guess I will be recovering soon since the reaction in the ART kit took quite a while before coming to positive.
The result on my ART kit also is quite faint. Even though faint, I am still not taking my chances. As long as there’s a line there, I’m staying indoors. You should too.
In the case that you are serving HRP, you might want to update your ART results here. The results will then be updated on the TraceTogether app. I will share my experience of going through recovery at home in my upcoming post.
See ya then and stay safe aite!
